EVEN FROM THE WICKED ONE'S SNARE!

I may have been sixteen but my eyes weren’t green,
with envy of those who appear to have chose,
to be free from the race even in that special place,
where I might find rest - Where?  There!
even from the wicked one’s snare!

So the story did unfold when my own heart was told,
even while being unaware Your presence was there,
and because of Your grip no way could I slip,
where I could find rest - Where?  There!
even from the wicked one’s snare!

What the voice then had said about the moment I’d dread,
did plant a small seed in me to one day make me free,
and while I didn’t know Need would have me to go,
where I would find rest - Where?  There!
even from the wicked one’s snare!

So, I’m reminding you now with deception he’ll plow,
in you a ditch of doubt with no easy way out,
But like me you should find the need to continually remind,
your soul to find rest - Where?   There!
even from the wicked one’s snare!

Knowing this plan for me only The Lord I see,
no matter what is his ploy The Lord’s strength is my joy,
because what now is so clear doesn’t even to him appear,
where I have found rest - Where?   There!
even from the wicked one’s snare!

I now look back on that phrase the hairs of my neck don’t raise,
there’s nothing to fear even length of my life which is dear,
knowing by who it was first said and who has brought this dread,
I have found rest - Where?   There,!
even from the wicked one’s snare!

I was commanded not to listen to words that didn’t glisten,
and to hear the words of him would make my own candle dim,
so I must close my ears to shut out all fears,
and I will remain at rest - Where?   There!
even from the wicked one’s snare!

What should I then say - to that voice To Day ?
His voice only do I hear as he then can not appear,
and this one thing I know in this place I’ll grow,
where I have found rest - Where?   There!
even from the wicked one’s snare!

So at that time I did hear that the big five o I’d fear,
and I would not see life as I intended it to be,
but this message I heard remained a difficult word,
until I found rest - Where?   There!
even from the wicked one’s snare!

The word had been spoken and I would become broken,
so when confusion entered in how was I then able to win,
and be enabled to survive that I might remain alive
to know where is my rest - Where?   There!
even from the wicked one’s snare!

And now the first voice I hear is one I don’t fear,
but the next which does come is a trap for only some,
As His child this I know with His voice
He’ll show where I might find rest - Where?   There,!
even from the wicked one’s snare!

Now I’ve been told he is wise but my rights I exercise,
and when he sends his sore he can’t prevent my life any more,
and by his crafty invention I’ll not be put in detention,
as I have found rest - Where?   There!
even from the wicked one’s snare!

So, when I first was warned I was not being scorned,
but because of His love this word arrived from above,
He then tried to confuse my mind - but he’d still lose,
as I would find rest - Where?   There,!
even from the wicked one’s snare!

The year two thousand you’ll not see is what was implied to me,
so I could not comprehend my life’s meaning and end,
but one day I’d find that I had been so blind,
right there was my rest - Where?   There!
even from the wicked one’s snare!

Now full of strength I will go after many more years I do know,
all because of the one I love I’ll be forever with Him above,
Who IS not only The Lord of all but The One who prevents my fall,
because He gave me rest - Where?   There!

even from the wicked one’s snare!

Finally, This is the song I do sing because He gave to me a ring,
this one I now wear and because of Him I’ll share,
His love that He’s given me that you might also see,
where you can find rest - Where?   There!
even from the wicked one’s snare!

I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart. therefore I know
my righteousness shall go before me; the glory of the LORD shall be my rereward.
